Carlos Santana became unwell during a performance in Michigan on Tuesday night (July 5).

Pine Knob Music Theatre (previously DTE Energy Music Theatre), an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, some 40 miles northwest of Detroit, was the scene of a guitar great’s apparent collapse onstage.

 

At around 10 p.m. ET, Billboard’s Gary Graff tweeted that Santana was “being treated as we speak.”

According to Roop Raj, a Fox2 Detroit evening anchor and reporter, Santana is undergoing medical treatment. A team of doctors and nurses has arrived on stage. People sought to pray for him because he was having “severe medical issues,” writes he.

 

 

Graff posted a tweet at 10:37 p.m. ET. At Pine Knob Music, Carlos Santana was transported offstage on a stretcher after falling around 20 minutes into the show. He waved as he was wheeled away, but there was no information on his condition.”

 

 

 

 

Santana’s rep, Michael Vrionis, says the singer was brought to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation because he was suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. In the words of some, the experienced performer is “doing well.”

 

 

In celebration of his 26th and most recent studio album, Blessings and Miracles, released in 2021, the 74-year-old singer is on the road for his Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour: Santana + EWF.

As a result, Vrionis has postponed his scheduled performance at The Pavilion at Star Lake (previously the S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgettstown, PA.

Santana has won 10 Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammys, including a record-tying nine Grammys for a single album, 1999’s Supernatural. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

In addition to the Kennedy Center Honors Award (2013) and the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement distinction (2009), his long list of achievements includes the Billboard Century Award (1996). (1998).

A recent appearance on CNN’s star-studded The 4th in America special has allowed Santana to perform again.
