New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh and Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan, including 17 Indo-Canadians, won the Canadian parliamentary election. Liberal Party leader and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have again returned to power.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Trudeau by tweeting. The PM wrote, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the election victory. I look forward to continuing to work together to further strengthen India-Canada ties, as well as to cooperate on global and multilateral issues.”
