Alabama star Devonta Smith left the college soccer national championship game in the third quarter when an impressive 1st half against Ohio State on Monday night.
On the Crimson Tide’s initial drive of the third quarter, Smith was seen getting jammed up by an Ohio State defender. Replays from the play appeared to indicate Smith hurt his right hand.
The wide receiver was taken to the team’s medical tent and then he was seen walking back to the locker room with Alabama up thirty eight-24 late within the third. Alabama said he was questionable to return with a hand injury. Smith place together a historic initial half.

Wide receiver was carried to the Team medical tent and then seen returning to the locker room with Alabama standing thirty eight-24 at the end of the third.
Alabama said it was questionable to return with a hand injury. Smith put together a historic first half Those who watched the game were concerned about the so-called “Heisman jinx” where the winners do not perform well in the games of bowls.
The so-called jinx didn’t affect Joe Burrow in last year’s national championship game, aside from the injury it didn’t affect Smith much either.
He got most of the attention this season when teammate Jaylen Waddle was left on the ground with an ankle injury. Smith skyrocketed on the NFL draft boards and could be the first wide receiver caught in the spring.
Crimson Tide’s thrust of the third quarter, Smith was seen being blocked by an Ohio State defender. Replays of the game appeared to show that Smith had injured his right hand. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns.
