World Cup standings: 2022 Qatar group stage table, matchups, schedule, start times, tiebreaker procedure, more

On Sunday, November 20, the official beginning of the World Cup in Qatar will take place, and it will last through Saturday, December 10. Simply click on this link to get the complete match schedule for the day and to print out your wall chart. This will be the first time that the tournament is played during the winter months, which will interrupt the schedule for the club soccer season. Additionally, this will be the last time that the format will be limited to 32 teams before it expands to 48 teams in time for 2026 when the United States, Mexico, and Canada will host the tournament.

In reference to the United States of America, the national team has finally made its long-awaited return to the largest platform in the world, despite the fact that they were unable to qualify for the World Cup in Russia in 2018. The United States national football team is competing in its 11th World Cup. Over the course of the last nine tournaments, the United States has qualified for the World Cup eight times. The United States Men’s National Team, coached by Gregg Berhalter, came in third place out of eight teams in the Concacaf qualifying group, behind Mexico and Canada. The Canadian national team is competing in the World Cup for the second time, but it has been 32 years since they last participated in the competition, which took place in Mexico in 1986. They will compete alongside Belgium, Morocco, and the runners-up in the 2018 tournament, Croatia. In the meanwhile, Mexico will face Saudi Arabia, Poland, and an Argentina team captained by Lionel Messi in what is likely to be his final international competition.

As Tite looks to add a sixth star to the Selecao crest, Brazil has the best odds (+400) of any of the contenders to win the entire tournament, courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook. No other team has such favorable odds. France (+600), Argentina (+650), England (+700), Spain (+800), and Germany (+1000) are some of the countries that are not too far behind Brazil in the futures market.

Each national team will have until November 14 at one o’clock in the afternoon Eastern Time (ET) to reveal their full 26-man roster. Wednesday is the day that Berhalter will make public his list of candidates for the United States. Here, you are able to monitor the progress of the list for each team.

Right here is where you can stay current on the schedule, the standings, and the scores. It’s important to go through how the tiebreaker works before we go into the rankings, so let’s do that now. Before we get to the stage where we have to draw lots to determine which team or teams will move on to the next round, there are seven steps that need to be completed. At the previous World Cup, Japan advanced to the knockout stage at the expense of Senegal on account of FIFA’s fair play points. It’s not completely out of the question to suppose that history may repeat itself in Qatar.
